Shopping on a Budget

Currently the economy is not as good as we would all like it to be, but this doesn’t mean that our clothing has to go downhill as well. In rough times like these it may be a little hard to go out and spend as much money as we would like on our clothing.

If you find yourself on a tight budget when it comes to clothes, shopping on a budget is the way to go! Here are a few ways you can still look fabulous for a very low price:

1. Be a smart shopper: You do not need to go to Holt Renfrew to purchase all of your favorite clothing. Stores like H&M, Gap, and Forever 21 have very similar clothing for really great prices!

2. Quality over quantity: Although most would like to believe that more is better than less, this is not always the case. Purchase items that will be good for all seasons and not just for one.

3. Mix it up: You can always wear the pieces that you have in a variety of different ways.

4. Thrift shopping: Many people will not be found anywhere near a thrift store, but if you know how to shop and you spend the time looking around you can find some really cool pieces for really reasonable prices.

5. Shop off season: In between seasons stores always have the best sales. Just because something is trendy at the moment doesn’t mean you need to have it right away. Wait a bit and in time your favorite item could be half the price!

Shopping on a budget isn’t that hard! What ways do you go about shopping on a budget?

  1. Jess, remember when we went to Value Village and bought matching jean vests?

  2. Fabulous advice! I constantly shop in between seasons because that's when the best sales are on in every store. Another piece of advice I would give is not to be conned by the boxing day shopping because they are basically the same price as other times in the year. Also, the "buy one get half off" (and other such sales) I find are pathetic because you don't really need the second item most of the time.

  3. I totally agree, shopping in between seasons is great! And a trip to the US is always good for some great deals.
